Akhila: Thanks for leaving such thoughtful comments. I definitely agree that it's very important to keep changing, improving, and taking risks. For some, taking big risks is the best way to be more confident...when they really challenge themselves. But, I'm working on baby steps, and keeping a positive outlook, just taking it a day at a time. Good luck to you as well, I hope you accomplish your goal!

Hey, I completely love and agree with this post as well - don't worry, you're not the only one with a desire to increase confidence...I too am not the most confident person, and it's definitely one of my goals as well for the upcoming year. It's very important to keep changing, improving, and taking risks.

I have to say that one of the best ways to build confidence is to really put yourself out there, take risks. Take on a leadership role outside of work, or move to a different country altogether. These things may be hard, but there are smaller risks you can incorporate into your daily routine too. Best of luck!

Susan: Thank you so much for your kindness and words of encouragement. They mean a lot! Moving outside our comfort zone and making a change is difficult and it does take time, but I've gotten to the point where I know this is something I have to do if I want to be living my life to the fullest. So, we'll see what happens! Thanks again for your support :)

Sam: I love this post, I love the title, and I love the message and goal. I think a lot of it is about stepping out of our comfort zones, even a little bit at a time. I think sometimes we are forced out, but at other times, we have to nudge our own way there. And it's tough. Definitely easier said than done, but entirely worth it in the end.

On a personal note: I made a similar goal last year when I turned 25. 25 seemed like a milestone, and I wanted that year of uncertainty and emotional upheaval to end, I wanted that new age to count. So I said, this is it, my birthday is going to be the changing point. I think I ended up crying on my birthday. But then what I saw, slowly, gradually, was a change in myself.

Transformations and change doesn't happen overnight, as you've said and realized. It's magical, when you look back on it, though may seem daunting to begin with. But you've got this, I'm positive. And I couldn't be more excited (and proud) for you.

Thanks for being so open and honest. And thanks for sharing a bit of this journey with us.
