Elisa: I'm glad you enjoyed this post. While I've been going through all of this "self discovery," or whatever you want to call it, I've also been noticing a lot of people getting more absorbed in personal branding and trying to expand their online presence. While I admire people who can do that, it also makes me sad to watch them lose themselves and their sense of self.

Sometimes it's great to look at the big picture and reach for the stars, but like you said, we also need to focus on what we have and where we've come from. Thanks so much for your comments, and the image of you doing a jig in your living room :) I'm so excited to meet you!!

Aww, Jenny! I would be honored to have my words taped to your bathroom mirror lol. Seriously though, thank you for your compliments and congrats. I know that you wrote about this topic not long ago, and when I commented, I kind of left a teaser of this post. So, hopefully I ended the suspense :) I'm glad everyone is honing in on the concept of being the best version of yourself right now. It's such an important idea, but difficult to realize and comprehend.

Susan: Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. You're right, you really can't take care of others unless you take care of yourself. What people don't realize is that it takes a lot of time and energy to be a "giver," so if you're not taking care of yourself as well, you won't be able to do as much as you want to. Thanks for your comments!

Thanks JR! I love the way you describe achieving that balance. Sometimes it takes us a while to realize how much progress we've made, but when we do, those are some of the best moments in life.

Sam, I love this post is so many ways that I feel like I'd have to write a tiny mini-post to respond and that's just not ok. It would be becoming one of the worst versions of myself. :P

In all seriousness, what a great insight. Being the best person that you can possibly be, but also the best person you can be right now. So many of us get caught up on what we need to improve, the things we need to do to be the person we want to be. Focusing on what could be instead of what we have is a problem that plagues more than just personal development, but I feel like that is one of the most fatal places it can poison.

In closing, I love this post and adore you. And am super excited to meet up later this month. Seriously, like I did a little jig in my living room. :)
