It Only Takes One Word: Father’s Day Appreciation

by Sam on June 21, 2009

You may call him dad, daddy, father, pops, old man, or padre. Maybe you’ve been close your whole life, or things have been strained, or you just recently found that you have more in common than you thought. It’s Father’s Day, and that means that it’s the perfect time to show the father figures in your life some appreciation. You don’t have to do much, in fact, it only takes one word: thanks.  Write it, say it, send it, show it.   Happy Father’s Day!

  • P Diddy: Thanks for stopping by! It sounds like you're a great dad, and I hear you're a very wise sports fan too!
  • P Diddy
This is P Diddy. Thanks for the wonderful comments. And yes I am very proud of what you have become. I am also very happy to have 2 daughters who love me with all my flaws (and they know them) and are both very much daddy's girls.
  • Aww sounds like a great combination! I got my dad some gifts and we spent the day in NYC, went to a show, had dinner...it was great! I'm glad to hear that your dad means so much to you. Thanks for commenting!
  • Haha, P. Diddy...I love it! He seems like an amazing guy, and I'm glad you have such a nice relationship. I'm also very close with my dad and he is someone who I truly admire. There's nothing like the love a dad gives his daughter. Is your dad the one who taught you about sports? Mine is, and I'm sooo glad I grew up in Mass instead of New York :) Thanks for sharing your story! I hope you're dad had a Happy Father's Day!
  • I like this post, my dad means a lot to me so I'm getting him chocolates, gifts and dedicate his day for him :)

  • My Dad's name is Paul, so we refer to him as P Diddy. He actually now refers to himself online and in various social settings as Diddy. It's adorable! He is one of the top commenters on my blog. It shows how much he cares! He went back to college and got his bachelors degree so that he could accept a massive promotion within his company to create a wellness program in supermarkets. He taught me that hard work will eventually pay off! He loves my Mom unconditionally after 35 years of being married and never ceases to let my sister and I know how proud of us he is. His example of love will follow me my whole life!
