Totally. Wallowing, screaming, crying, freaking out, all acceptable reactions to crappy situations….as long as you don't get stuck in that place. As difficult as it may be, I really think perspective is crucial in helping us get past those bumps in the road. You're right that the good things are what keeps us going. Thanks for your insight!

I love Ryan's comment — and I love this post because it's something I've really had to tell myself in the form of a good self-talking to. It really is all about perspective. With all of the health issues I was going through, although I'm ashamed to admit it, I got scared and self-pitying, and I wallowed. Sometimes, we need to give into those emotions and wallow and cry and scream and throw things (preferably plush things). Sometimes we need to remember that we have people on our side, cheering us on from the sidelines until the game that has been so self-consuming is over (or at least in a time-out). Sometimes, you have to remember the good things, even in the face of all of the bad. Because that's what keeps us going.

Haha thank you for the song! Made me literally laugh out loud You're right, the easy thing is to have a pity party. I do agree that a lot of life is perspective. It is really easy to get down on yourself and curse your situation. But it is hard to keep hustling, to keep pushing for something better. That is what we all need to strive for and remember, to both enjoy the moment and realize that things will eventually get better when they are bad.

Great post Sam, I really like your honesty with your posts lately.

We’re all going to have days, weeks, sometimes even months, that totally suck. There will be experiences and events that challenge every fiber of our being. My best advice is to maintain perspective, and don’t go it alone.

Amen. Life happens, you dust yourself off, and you keep moving on. There are always people that will be there for you, and those who you meet that are new friends that offer you a new perspective on things, and can help you through.
