Wow, thank you Matt. I don't know what to say. Grief happens in stages, and people deal with it in many different ways. I could just be angry at the world (or some Higher Power) because my friend was taken away too young, but what good would that do? I could mope around and be sad and let it weigh me down, but I know Max wouldn't want me to do that. I know I'm never going to forget him, and I think the best way to honor his memory is to pass on the lessons his friendship taught me. Thank you so much for your kind words, and thank you for your friendship. I really appreciate it.

You are one of the best people I know at telling others how you feel and showing your gratitude and appreciation, even when it isn't asked for or isn't expected. If everyone did that, the world would be a much better and more loving, caring place. What you've done here is amazing - honoring your friend in one of the best ways you know how, in a way you are passionate about - through writing. The power of written word is underestimated - it can and is one of the best ways to display a free-flowing of emotion. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I'm sorry for your loss, but you, better than most of us, are capable of handling adversity in a positive and proactive way - staring it in the face and forcing yourself to not back down, keep moving forward, and keep living as a better person than you were the day before.

Thanks Susan. All too often, people take their lives and the people they care about for granted. I try to make the most of every day, and I don't always succeed, but at least I try. I'm glad my story touched you. Thank you so much for your comments!

Ummm..I don't really know what to say, which is an amazing thing for me. Loss of friend and/or family is hard and I admire you for putting something so incredibly personal and honest out there. Thank you for sharing. You are amazing!
