About

The Abstract

Hi, I’m Sam. Since I graduated from college in May 2008, my whole life has pretty much turned upside down. I’ve been through some pretty tough stuff, but even the difficult experiences have taught me something valuable. It’s those life lessons that you will find here. In the wise words of Forest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

The Details

If you’re still reading, you want to know more about me than just the basics, so here it goes. I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and moved to Long Island in the middle of high school.  I went back to New England for college, studying Journalism at Quinnipiac University.  After graduation, I moved back home and began the job search. In January 2009, I started my current job in marketing at online ad network, CPX Interactive, in New York City.

I’m an only child and I’m very close with my parents. Friendship is incredibly important to me.  I have great friends, and you’ll see that friendship is a common topic on this blog. I strongly believe in the importance of appreciating the people in your life, and I try to remind everyone to make appreciation a part of their every day. Remember that it doesn’t take much to make someone smile.

I’m a giver, and I love doing things for other people. I have a huge heart, and when I care about someone, I really care. If someone needs an ear to listen or a piece of advice, I’m there for them. That’s just me.  I may seem quiet before you get to know me, but you’ll find out that I actually have a lot to say.

I love football (especially the New England Patriots), ice cream, fashion, traveling, reading, the beach, and meeting new people, among many other things.  Writing is my passion. I believe in making every moment count.
